In March, the latest results of the CLARIFY study on the characterization of sexual dysfunction in women with lung cancer were presented at the European Lung Cancer Congress 2024 in Prague. CLARIFY researcher Dr Vanessa Ospina presented this analytical observational study in women with lung cancer that was carried out in the framework of the CLARIFY Project at the Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro between October 2020 to March 2023. The study conducted descriptive and logistic regression analyses focusing on the assessment of clinical and demographic variables and sexual function through a gender-specific validated questionnaire. Results show a severe dysfunction of most phases of sexual response in 34-60% of women with lung cancer which suggests the need to screen and diagnose sexual dysfunction in order to provide multidisciplinary support to lung cancer patients.
